Camaraderie – Session 10 – RAC University Alumni

‘Camaraderie’ is a novel concept initiated by the Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa at the beginning of the Rotaract Year 2017/ 18. It is the major Club Service Project of the club carried throughout the year 2017/18, along with the Monthly General Meetings of the club.

The main objective of this project is to enrich the theme, ‘Engage Rotaract – Redefine Friendship’ through Fellowship, Reach-out, Innovation, Empowerment, Nourishment, Discipline, Sustainability, Hope, Inspire and Passion. In achieving the above objective, the club conducted their Monthly General Meetings as Joint-Meetings with another Rotaract Cub of the District, affixing more beauty to the traditional monthly meetings.

The tenth and the final session of Camaraderie for the Rotaract year 2017/18 was jointly carried out with the Rotaract Club of University Alumni on 22nd May 2018 at Royal College Union Skills Centre, Colombo 7. Just after the general meeting formalities, the project briefings and important matters were discussed.

The gathering cheered for the achievements of Alumni Mora at ‘Soorya Rashmi’ New Year celebrations, and they were also amused by the vivid memories of University Alumni’s ‘BBQ Night’. When the Alumni Mora expressed the story of ‘Haritha Pasala’, University Alumni voiced of ‘Sampradana’. As for how Alumni Mora shared the joy with a bunch of kids through their ‘Share the joy’ initiative, University Alumni did through ‘Merry Little Xmas’. Consequently, the joint meeting paved the way for both the club members to comprehend the common goals of ‘Rotaract in Service’ and the unique ways of each achieving it.

After the project briefings, the Ice-Breaking session commenced, where all the members got to know each other with their interesting talents. Upon the grown fellowship, it was also suggested by the members to conduct a joint project in future which would be sustainable in the long run. Finally, the meeting was concluded with a cheer for camaraderie.
