7th Installation Ceremony

Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa has completed 6 successful years of community service, professional development and international understanding and has stepped into its 7th year. The 7th installation ceremony for the Rotaract year 2019/20 was held at the Royal Skills Center, Colombo 7 on 4th of July 2019. The Chief Guest at the ceremony was Rtn. Pravir Samarasinghe, the President of the Rotary Club of Colombo West.

Following the traditions of lighting up the oil lamp, installation ceremony officially started with the Rotaract formalities. Rotaract Alumni Mora spent a most remarkable year with the outgoing board of directors for the year 2018/19. The dedicated members of the past Rotaract year were awarded by “Spirit of Service” award by outgoing President Rtr. Waruna Rasanga for their commitment to the society.

The Immediate Past President, Rtr. Waruna Rasanga was invited on stage to share his experiences throughout the last year of service to the club and he introduced the newly inducted President to the gathering. The passing down of President collar to the newly appointed President Rtr. Hasitha Prashan marked a new era at Rotaract Alumni Mora. The new President promised to continue the club’s endeavour by introducing the new theme “Strive to Save the Earth”. Afterwards, the new board of directors for the year 2018/19 was introduced by the President.

The installation ceremony concluded with the call from newly appointed President Rtr. Hasitha and it was followed by felicitations from Rotaract district members, past members from Rotaract Alumni Mora and President from Rotaract Mora.
