What would the most magical season of the year, the Christmas season, be without musical melodies?
Amidst the cold breeze of December, we slowly embrace the warmth of Christmas through the dazzling decorations, gifts and the much-awaited company of loved ones. But, there’s one more special thing that touches our hearts the most in this season. It is the Christmas melodies that tune-up our seasonal vibes. It is no secret that every one of us has a Christmas tune humming inside our mind during this time of the year. Above all, ‘Christmas carols’ is a universal language that we express our joy in the magical season.
Mistletoe & Wine 2020…
‘Mistletoe & Wine’ was an attempt by us Rotaractors to colour the season with musical melodies and fellowship. This was an exciting endeavour by Rotaract clubs of Negombo, Colombo Central, CINEC Campus, University of Colombo – Faculty of Medicine and Alumni of University of Moratuwa.
An evening of exciting melodies…
On the evening of 27th of December, we Rotaractors got together virtually to celebrate the season’s spirit with carols. The evening started with a beautiful sinhala carol performance which heightened the Christmas spirit in the evening. Members of every participating club performed lovely Christmas carols, and some accompanied musical arrangements by the singers themselves. These performances were able to bring out the amazing talents of our fellow Rotaractors in singing and playing. The engaging performances and friendly chitchats filled the post-Christmas evening with joy. The excitement of the evening doubled with the mini-competition which was to guess the song of our favourite tunes from childhood tv-series and advertisements. The competition certainly took the participants back to their childhood and added more enjoyment to the session.
The perfect farewell to the season…
‘Mistletoe & Wine’ was certainly an exciting evening with our members of the Rotaract fraternity. This enthusiastic company of Rotaractors was the perfect way to bid farewell to the season. We extend a huge shout-out to the organizers and participants of all the clubs for making this evening of the magical season extra special.
